Poured from a 24 oz bottle into my trusty snifter. No discernable bottle date.
A: Pretty typically SN. Very pretty beer. Crystal clear light orange rust color. Poured a one finger slightly off-white fluffy head. Lacing everywhere. These guys definitely know how to make a beer look completely appealing.
S: Bright dank floral notes. Piney and herbal. For a wet-hopped beer, I'm not getting much of the cut grass/green Chlorophyl smells that normally comes with a harvest ale.
T: Wonderful hop bitterness at the front. Floral, piney and resinous. Some sweet caramel and even a nutty/biscuity malt to help balance it out, but this thing is surely a pedestal for hops. However, I don't know that it's necessarily noticeable as a wet-hopped beer. That being said, it's a fantastic tasting beer.
M: Smooth and creamy, medium bodied beer. Average carbonation. Viscous enough to leave little pockets of juicy bitterness all over my mouth.
O: Another home run for Sierra Nevada. While it's nothing overly exciting or out of step with their "norm", I can't say it's bad. In fact, it's really good. The bitterness is so well pronounced while maintaining this fantastic balance with the sweet caramel malts. The creamy mouthfeel is quickly becoming one of my favorite aspects of any Sierra Nevada beer and this is no exception. Their blueprint has become virtually flawless in my opinion. The only thing I will say is that I don't think it falls in line with the "harvest ale" style...but I wish other breweries could still hit a home run when missing their mark the way that SN can.
