24 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 9/24/2014. Pours lightly hazy deep orange/copper color with a 2 finger dense light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pineapple, mango, caramel, toasted bread, herbal, floral, grass, light pine, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of juicy citrus/earthy hops and moderate malt sweetness; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pineapple, mango, pine, herbal, floral, grass, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pineapple, mango, pine, herbal, floral, grass, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice robustness, balance, and complexity of juicy citrus/earthy hops and moderate malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately crisp/sticky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a really excellent wet hop IPA. All around great complexity and balance of juicy citrus/floral hops and moderate malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottled 9/24/14, barely a month old, which is nice for a beer like this as often you find them more than a month old already on the shelf.

Pours a nice fizzy slight creamy bubbly 1 finger head that fades fairly slowly, nice soapy notched lacing, a very clear amber slight rosy reddish-orange color.

Nose explodes out of the gate! Lots of fresh hops, plenty fruity, with some citrus and grapefruit, with plenty of floral hops as well, a little pine and grassy notes too, with some fresh wet hop resin and hop oils. Also a sweet toasty reddish almost caramel candy like malt underneath, but mostly hops, and even dank.

Taste brings malts out front actually, a sweet candy malt, toffee, caramel and even a touch of a toasted brown sugar like, but not too sweet, just thick and chewy sweet malts, it tastes kinda like a brown ale actually. Then hops kick in, plenty of them too, with some grassy earthy notes out front, then quickly into a mild spicy and piney flavor. Pine eventually seems to dominate, bringing a mild dankness, and some resin, fresh wet hop oil and resin, mild grapefruit and citrus rind in there too. Fluffy malts finish it off as it dries a bit on the finish, little sticky but pretty dry, quite bitter too as it wasn't too bitter to start, a bit more pine and spicy hop notes lingering, a touch of resin and dankness, and a little candy malt toffee caramel flavor.

Mouth is med to fuller bod, nice fluffy full malt feel, with nice carb.

Overall pretty nice but not great, it has some good hops that come through nicely on the aroma but are quite lacking on the flavor, malts are nice but hard to see that in an IPA, more like an amber or even brown ale, nice bitterness, great mouth feel, but just lacking that hop profile on the flavor to really kick this up.

From bottle at home. This years model. As one who has a very small tolerance for hoppy brews I live in hope that there are those that can create hop forwards IPAs or, as in this case, can showcase that which makes hops so very popular, that appeal to the likes of me.

They say to not judge a book by the cover but I've found the sturdier the head & intricate the lacing the more balanced the brew. This has high marks in both that supports my theory.

Balance is always the key for me & this is a great example of well thought out & executed balances on every level.

The first sip hit me with a serious resin-like flavor that took a moment to adjust to. There is no bite whatever. The bitter is right where I like it.

A comfortable & inviting experience.

Pours a brilliant amber orange with a plump layer of frothy white foam.

Biscuits, pine, orange zest, and some spice.

Tons of herbal and pines notes, kinda like grass, some citrus, and some toast-like notes to add as well, very good!

Mouthfeel is soft and gentle for an IPA. Enough citrusy/piney bite from the hops balanced perfectly with a gentle malt backbone.

In my opinion, definitely in the top 10 wet hopped ales.
