Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a tulip glass.
Appearance: Hazy dark brown with slight reddish tint. one finger of creamy tan head that receded quickly and left some decent lacing.
Smell: Sweet and yeasty with dark malts beneath. Hints of dark fruit and spice.
Taste: Like it smells, sweet and yeasty with good dark fruit flavors like dark cherries and raisins. A little vanilla and caramel in the malts. A tasty Belgian dubbel.
Mouth Feel: Medium body with creamy carbonation that makes it sweey and creamy on the tongue.
Drinkability: It's a good, not great, Belgian style Dubbel. It's a bit heavy, so I'd probably stop after a tall glass or two, and wouldn't session. But, overall a pretty good representation of the style.
