Mahogany colored body with some lighter coppery red highlights in the chalice. Fluffy light ivory colored head, about 3 fingers thick to start and slowly fades, leaving little lace behind.
Caramel and candy sweetness with some hints of spice in the aroma but comes across as a bit underwhelming.
Taste opens up a bit more than the aroma with lots of malty/caramel sweetness and some fruitiness too. Clove like spice and fruity esters provide a nice Belgian yeast profile.
Mouthfeel is creamy but a bit lighter than expected.
Overall, a nice dubbel and a great effort from SN and these monks.
