Poured from a corked and caged 750 ml into a tulip glass at about 50 degrees. Formed a nice foamy head that stayed fully formed. Liquor is a very clear dark ruby with very active carbonation. The nose is yeasty, with fresh baked bread and a spicy note, but it is subdued. The flavor begins with cloves and toasted nuts, and yields to a bready middle followed by a notes of dried fruit and spices. Again, carbonation is very evident. Overall this is a very nice double, competing favorably with the abbey beers I can find in the area. Highly drinkable.
