Poured from a 12.7 oz bottle into a tulip glass:
A: The beer takes the color of burnt sugar as it sits in the glass with a pillowy tan head. Great retention on the head of the beer; it looks very attractive in the tulip. The corked, sturdy bottle and textured artwork on the label are a great touch.
S: Notes of creme brulee, caramel, and toasted malts come to the forefront. Just the right amount of sweetness.
T: As led-into by the nose, the beer starts with sweet notes of caramelized sugars and toasted bread. The flavors work together to make a smooth and buttery-sweet profile. The profile finishes with biscuity goodness.
M: Smooth velvety with a good touch of carbonation. The 7.5% abv does rear its head a bit in the finish.
O: From the presentation of the bottle to the sweet, caramely goodness of each quaff, I give Sierra Neveda and New Clairvaux props for providing a great dubbel experience.
