Pours orange amber with spare, oily beige head. Aroma is malt, flowers, some orange/citrus and cinnamon/clove/spice. Taste is all of the above with a little more emphasis, mouthfeel is right, however finish is relatively short, and weak on the palate. One of the better American saisons I’ve tried.

A: prominent smooth 3 finger head, clear orange in color, I prefer my beer hazier than this
S: grassy and dry, subtle bitterness
T: prominent malt and yeast, grassy and piney bitterness, very dry and crisp, a touch of bitter orange rind, the sweetness of the malt gives way to a mentholated and herbal note almost basilesque.
A somewhat hop forward saison that is also a tad boozy
M: dry but also oddly syrup, could be having it closer to room temp
O: This is a grassy and dry, hop forward saison, it is not incredible, but it does have it's own identity, which should be seen as a point of pride for this collaboration, worthy of a try if the price is right

Massive white head, yellow slightly hazy. Aroma was arid and dry, a little bit of lemon going on, not the pungent belgian yeast.

Bready, dry, clean mouthfeel and taste. Really American. Spice rack kept in check.

Enjoyed this on a summer day around the pool. Not rare, barreled, uber hoppy or sour, won't make waves.

From the over-age bottle, it pours a nice amber with a small head - possibly due to age. Some fruit on the nose. A bit of malt, along with lemon (?) on the tongue. Despite its age, it is enjoyable.

Way too malty and sweet. Way off balance. Almost no head. I remember having this a few years back and it was good. Something might have went wrong with this batch or its out of date. Bottle has a 2/9/2015 bottle date. Did not like at all, way too malty and butterscotch sweet 2.50

From notes. This pours a light clear golden color with a nice fluffy head. The Ovila is less hazy than some saisons. The head dissipates quickly and does not leave a lot of lacing. The aroma includes spiciness from the yeast and hops and a little malt. The malt sweetness also comes through initially in the flavor but it diminishes during the dry finish. I think Sierra Nevada does a real fine job with the carbonation and mouthfeel. It is medium bodied and refreshing. It is very clean tasting and it lacks some of the uniqueness (both good and bad) found in other saisons.

I found it hard to consider this a saison . . . I dunno, maybe it's just me. Overall a tasty beer and I liked it.
