Pours a great golden/amber in color with a big foamy head that leaves big chunks of lacing and reduces to a thin layer in my SN pint glass.
It smells hoppy, with notes of earth and citrus, but not as strongly as I would expect.
The taste is bitter, with lots of citrus hop flavors and a hint of malt, but I feel this seems dialed down from a true double IPA. It has a nice hoppy aftertaste, too.
Slick body isn't watery.
Overall this is a decent double IPA. There are many better examples out there. Sadly this is my least favorite of the four Beer Camp beers, and double IPAs are my favorite style. Perhaps I was expecting more from Sierra Nevada.
