From the first shipment to the Boston area. As fresh as I could get it out here. Poured into a SA perfect pint glass. Been anxious to get my Beer camp 12 pk.
A- Pours a nice bright orange golden hue, Transparent. The head is egg shell white and rises about 1" before leaving solid frothy and rocky foam. Good sticky lacing.
S- A good dose of freshly picked pineapple. The tang is nice and crisp & lets a tad bit of sweetness come through. Quite strong on the citrus & piney hop combo. Aroma is good, but not up there with the strongest smelling DIPA.
T- Very hop forward, as expected. Takes a slight detour from the aroma it seems. Much more direction towards piney & woodsy hops. A good citrus zest and crispness as well. There is a spicy caramel feel in the end, in addition to some slight bread malt note.
M- A medium bodied DIPA. The bitterness is bold, but not completely overpowering, about a 7 of 10 on sheer bitterness. The flavors finish well, and the bitterness outlasts any direct flavors. Nice and crisp. There is some residual piney resin feel on palate but not to chewy or cloying. A nice rounded feel, wet.
O- A good DIPA. Really glad to see SN release this one. Probably a good transitional DIPA for those who want to take the jump from IPAs. Good, clean, refreshing and easy to drink.
