Bottled on April 1, 2011.
A: Clear copper with a full head that disipates quickly leaving little lacing.
S: Sweet breadiness, some warm spices and faint, herbal hops. The nose is pretty muted.
T: Clean and bready with a touch of sweet yeastiness and a faint biscuitiness. I get a mild bitterness on the finish, but I don't otherwise pick up the hops. Some alcohol comes through as it warms.
M: Nice carbonation, but the mouthfeel is much fuller than I would like in this beer.
O: Very drinkable, although a bit too sweet. The (appropriately) modest flavor doesn't justify the relatively high abv. Unfortunately, it's been a long time since I last had Anchor Steam, so comparing them is hard.
