Picked up a mixed Sierra Beer Camp 12pack of 12oz bottles from Bobby's Liquor in San Jose, CA. I was quite fond of this one and am reviewing on the last I had in the pack which was about $22 I recon. I pour into my Beck's Stange.
White head of about an inch that is consistent of large bubbles. Head dissipates and leave a nice ring on the rim of the glass. Color is on the copper/orange side of light beery. Carbonation is visually adequate.
Aroma seems rather light and simple.. Some biscuity malts and grassy hops with a hint of citrus. Raw barley and grain also detected.
They pull much more flavor out of this beer than you would expect after glancing at and smelling it. Very balanced with green hops, raw malty taste, refreshing lemon citrus and honey.
Medium body and perhaps a little light in the carbonation department, but this certainly does not affect its drinkability at all for me as this one goes down VERY quickly. Very smooth with a little crispness on the finish.
A great summer beer for me and highly recommended to those who enjoy the subtly in great craft beer. Holy smokes, I just realized it is 6.5%! I would have guessed it to be far less than that.
