I happened to pour this IPA into a crystal tasting glass at 45 degrees F.
A- It looks great. Lots of the beautiful caramel color that "RyePA's" have. The head was thin and didn't last more than a minute.

S- Smells fantastic. Personally I enjoy the smell of this beer more than anything. You can almost taste it with your nose. Its aroma is light and energetic.

T- The taste I found to be average. It has an ok bitterness factor, I personally like very potent IPAs. I felt as if the maltiness did not come through very much at all. Classic pine notes, floral, a sort of zesty spiciness like cloves.

M-I did not enjoy the mouthfeel of this beer. It was clingy and fuzzy. It left me scraping my tongue against my upper teeth for 30 min. Not what I am used to from IPAs.

Overall- It is a perfectly and wonderfully vanilla beer that I felt as if I needed to drink colder and colder as I made my way through the six pack over a period of 2 weeks. Over all I would award a 3.5.

A: Pours dark warm amber with an enormous fantastic creamy compact tan head that takes almost forever to dissipate, and does so leaving rich lacings.

S: Very American hoppy smell; citric but also piney. Grapefruit, pineapple and lemons. Roasted malt but also spice from the rye.

T: Both bitter and floral American hops, but compared to the smell, more in balance with the barley and rye. Roasted malt, only semi-sweet, and very spicy. Dryness from what I think is the rye.

M: Long lovely bitter and peppery aftertaste, really lingers for a long time. Body is rather full, while carbonation is mild. Damn this is smooth.

O: An AIPA, with obvious rye to balance the American hops - acrually a great idea.

A clear dark amber with a high warm off-white head, leaving loads of lacing and good curtains.

The smell is citric and fruity, grape-fruit, pine-apple, pine resin and needles.

Starting sweet toffee and brown bread, then grape-fruit, pepper and lemon peel.

Medium low carbonation, soft and sticky, a big body and a dry finish.

In all a good exemplary rye IPA.

Hazy dark copper color with decent head and spotty lacing.

Toasty, grainy, and spicey malt dominate the scent with only the slightest trace of citrus hops.

The hops pop a little more in the taste and there is some pine resin in addition to the citrus. Peppery rye finish.

Mouthfeel is crisp and clean, if not a little thin.

It's an ok rye pa. SN has done much better, though.

A very pleasant beer! I could make this one of my standard go-tos.

A- Rich and dark amber. The head was a nice toasty tan and lasted forever! The lacing was significant.

S- Hoppy, smooth (if you can use that word for smell... but it just seemed to have a "smooth" aroma), nutty. I couldn't sense any floral or citrus, but then, I've not been too good an those scents.

T- Toasty! Not cloying, but rather "full" flavored without being too bitter. Just enough of a bitterness to let you know you're drinking a beer worth drinking. Nutty. I couldn't tell a difference from it being a rye, though.

M- A slight sharpness of the carbonation. A little more than I prefer. But it's countered very nicely by its richness (without being too much so). Not at all chewy, and not not of an aftertaste (good).
