Had this on tap at Mayor of Old Town

Tried side by side w/ the bourbon version

A: Clear amber

S: Picking up dark malt, harsh and some sugar

T: Don't get a ton of traditional quad flavor, get dark sugar, bourbon and some west coast hops

M: Creamy and smooth

O: an interesting beer, not sure I'd seek it out again, but definitely worth trying. I preferred the bourbon version.

Keg at EBF.

Dark hazy brown dirty water color, light fizzy head.

Nose is plenty of brandy, woody esters, light fruit, bit of caramel malts and toasty brown malts.

Taste apple, woody esters, light booze, cinnamon, brown malts, brandy flavors with a hint of caramelized fruit flavors.

Mouth is fuller bodied, decent carb, bit of warming booze.

Overall not bad, I like the bourbon a bit better, but I'm not usually a huge brandy fan either.
