12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass.
Pours a hazy deep red color with two fingers of foam that fill to the top of the glass. Aroma is pretty hoppy, grassy, and a touch of caramelized sweetness.
First sip is a big rush of grassy/earthy hop flavors, followed by a bit of alcohol bite. Moderate sweetness and body round out the beer and hold the palate still while a firm bitterness finishes things off.
This is quite a hop-forward brew.. borderline IPA in my opinion. I think it is a little hot or maybe thin bodied for the alcohol level, but there is a great hop flavor here. The bitter finish is a touch on the harsh side as well.
Certainly an interesting beer, but I think it needs a little polish around the edges to be great.
