Appearance - Pours a deep, near ruby amber with an off-white, 2 finger head. Good retention. Resulting lace is thick and somewhat sticky.
Smell - Notes of caramel and dark fruits. Brown sugar. Not really getting any of the grapefruit, peach or melon as described on the back of the bottle.
Taste - Mostly dark fruit. Raisin. Hints of dark chocolate and caramel. Light citrus hoppiness. Finishes metallic and with too much alcohol burn.
Mouthfeel - Medium to full body. Feels a bit flat in the mouth.
Overall - At 8%, I was surprised by the amount of alcohol that presents itself on the palate. I thought it may have been closer to 10 or 11% until I read the bottle. Not very impressed.
