A: Pours a mildly hazy orange-amber color. The medium-sized head is off-white, with a moderately thick, frothy texture. Retention is sturdy but not exceptional. A solid spackling of lacing sticks to the glass.
S: Pretty nice IPA aroma. Aggressive floral and citric notes, with some secondary resiny/perfumey character. The malt background is fairly subdued in the nose, with mild hints of caramel and sugar cookie. It doesn't smell too out of the ordinary for an American IPA, but it does seem a bit more florally fragrant than many others.
T: Fairly unobtrusive malt presence. Little sweetness up front. Muted caramel flavor. Hop bitterness is strong and long lasting. Hop flavors are prominently floral and citric, with fruity and resiny notes. There's a second kick of floral bite into the lasting finish - rose hips and petals at work?
M: Somewhat full-bodied. Carbonation is fairly perky. A big, building wave of bitter dryness dominates the palate here. Definitely a bit astringent.
D: This is a nice IPA from a brewery that seems to brew good IPAs in its sleep. Compared to many of Sierra Nevada's others, this isn't my favorite, but it's still a good offering.

"Copper/light brown color with a clear appearance. I don't like the aroma of the hops in this beer. Taste is too bitter, again for Sierra Nevada!! I haven't had an i.p.a. from these guys that I hadn't though was too bitter and harsh - torpedo, hoptimum.... I guess the "wet hopped harvest was pretty good. Medium body and carbonation. hoppiness gets more "palatable" as you drink but still too harsh.
