Appearance starts off well, but I'm disappointed with the longevity of the head; it fades quickly, but to be fair it does leave a skim of foam, and it still lingers. Slightly murky; is this unfiltered?
My nose is not world-class, but a floral IPA ought to have a stronger or more forceful aroma, I think. This is pleasant enough, but not sufficiently distinct to enable a better description.
It is more bitter than I had expected, and also a bit thinner in the mouth. No doubt the result of the lower ABV. The lingering sourness is noticeable; a bit more malt might have helped here.
Overall, a nice beer, sort of like a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale with a hops boost, but to me it ends up too bitter. I liked it, and would gladly accept it when offered, but it is too thin and bitter to supplant what is usually in my beer fridge.
