A: Poured from the bottle into a Sierra Nevada pint glass. Body is hazy coppery-amber with a small off-white head. A couple splotches of lace.
S: Nice nose - citrusy and florally hops over caramel malt.
T: Florally hops - I don't really think I'm noting rose petals or rose hips or whatever part of the rose that's been added to this IPA, but rather seem to be getting the floral notes straight from the hops. Maybe that's the brewers' trick with this beer: convincing the drinker that he (or she) isn't getting the flavor from the ingredients from which it came. Crackery malt foundation. Some ctirus. Finishes with lemony bitterness.
M: Medium in heft. Carbonation is active, but finely prickly.
O: Good. I wouldn't qualify this as an English IPA, however - it's American through and through.
