Poured into the Sierra Nevada/Dogfish IPA glass
Pours a vibrant, pale orange with some nice golden yellow highlights. A thick, off white, 3 finger tall head forms very fast and last for quite sometime. As the head starts to fall, it leaves a web of lacing behind. Very active carbonation is clearly seen through the beer.
Pungent cascade hops slap your nostrils around right away with their herbal, distinctly floral aromatics; juicy grapefruit, orange peel and resinous pine. Playing a soft counterpoint to cascade hops are the astringent, tropical citra hops, with there dank notes of passion fruit, mango and faint lime. A light bready maltiness lingers in the background. To me, this IPA smells like an amped up version of their classic Pale Ale with some tropical notes added from the Citra hops. Very nice.
Big, oily hops right away; grapefruit, floral tones, pine resin pretty much classic Cascade hop flavors, just massively amplified. These Cascade hop tones continue coating your palate until a welcomed tropical passion fruit note comes into effect as your palate is greeted by a very light, bready malt backbone. The beer finishes exquisitely dry and very bitter with long, lingering notes of bitter grapefruit peel, pine resin and that trademark lime zest note from the Citra hops.
Medium bodied, moderate to high carbonation.
Wow, I was not expecting this beer to be THIS good. This IPA is easily my favorite beer that Sierra Nevada has produced so far. The beer is extremely dry and the malt bill is very light and clean, allowing the hops to really shine. The malt backbone does have a nice, slightly chewy breadiness that does keep the bitter hops from being too abrasive, but don't get me wrong, the hops are absolutely the star of the show. I REALLY hope they allow this beer to become a year round beer eventually. I absolutely think this beer alone is worth checking out this year's Beer Camp variety pack. This beer is awesome and really caught me by surprise.

Served from Bottle into Nordic Pint Glass
A - Hazy orange with a medium head that fades slowly leaving sticky lacing all the way down. Great looking beer.
S - Citrus, Tropical Fruit finishing with hints of caramel and pine.
T - Sweet tropical/floral hop hit fading to pear and leaving a piny earthy bitterness. Very well balanced.
M - Aftertaste does not last for long meaning you want more! Medium carbonation but very smooth and refreshing.
