A: Red-brown in color with a nice off-white head composed of some tight bubbles.
S: Mostly pine with grapefruit peel taking up the rest of the nose.
T: Piney hops upfront, with guava/mango fruit notes blending in nicely. Grapefruit zest comes in as backup, giving a great range of flavors. Bitterness is substantial. Malts are a little hard to find, but are biscuity with a touch of caramel.
M: Has a good IPA feel with a fair amount of carbonation.
O: I'm personally glad they swapped out Tumbler for this, but I'm not especially in the mood for hoppy beers this time of year. Nevertheless, this is a good beer that lives up more to the "Red IPA" on it's label than the typical amber ale style.
