500ml bottle with a hammerhead shark on the front, poured into a standard nonic pint glass

Pours with a rich deep brown body, black in low light. Thick and dense tan head, small but perfectly formed. Pretty solid retention and some very slight lacing

Smell, lots going on here. Some vague chalky roasted malt character in the background, slightly acidic on the nose, some vinous qualities. Freshly baked cakes and gingerbread

Taste, crisp and fairly carbonated mouthfeel, some acidic dark malty character, slight hint of roasted barley lingering around in there. Some dark rich molasses along with a dry chalky yeast finish

A hard to find stout, seems no one on here has reviewed it too. Tasty and full of flavour... on cask though i'm sure it'd be even better

500ml bottle bought from The Vineyard, Belfast...

Poured almost completely black with just the slightest brown / red tinges when held up to the light... Creamy mocha head poured tight and thick then faded quickly to thin layer... no real lacing...

Aroma - Nice roasted malt bitterness, light dusty / cardboard notes, quite earthy, light muscovado sugar notes, faint liquorice, some dark bitter chocolate, very light treacle sweetness, some pepperiness...

Taste – Good roasted malt bitterness, peppery / spicy notes, definite dusty / chalky traces, very light milkiness, some dark fruits (blackcurrents, dates), salty, roasted coffee / espresso, strong nutty sweetness along with dark muscovado sugar in the background...

Feel - Very smooth and creamy... medium / full bodied... A very drinkable stout - a pretty good session beer...

Overall - An excellent and nicely balanced stout... definitely worth a try...
