Appearance: Pale, golden, hazy; don't remember the head profile

Aroma: Honey-like aroma dominates the nose

Taste: Tart, honey, crisp, lemony; Not beer like. Not hoppy. Good, but not like a beer.

Remarks: Did not score A, T, S, M at that time; disregard those scores

A: The beer is hazy pale yellow in color and poured with a short white head that died down and left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and eventually completely faded away.
S: Light to moderately strong aromas of sour lactic acid are present in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste is mostly sour, but this is more of a subtle sourness and is different from the "in your face" sourness of an American Wild Ale or a gueuze.
M: It feels light-bodied and slightly tart on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: If you can handle the sourness, this beer is quite easy to drink. A dash of raspberry or woodruff would definitely make it more palatable. Nonetheless, it is a good representation of the style.

A 330ml bottle with a BB of July 2013. Picked up a while back from Trembling Madness in York, and stored in my garage. I've had this before while in Germany; unusually it comes in the stubby bottle that I associate more with Belgium. Love the little kid on the label.

Poured into a straight pint glass. Bottle conditioned. A hazy, pale-straw hue with medium carbonation. Yields a small head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding. Aroma of dry, earthy yeast with notes of lactic acid and a faint nuttiness. This is underpinned by grainy malt with a touch of wheat. Simple but pleasant.

Tastes of lactic tartness and yeast, with a dry, acidic finish. Notes of lactic acid, natural yoghurt, earthy yeast, faint apples, mild wheat and a hint of stewed leaves. Almost lemony in character, though without the flavour. Very dry and astringent upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, spritzy and very tingly - the acidity tantalises the tastebuds. The body is light but it suits the style and the low ABV. An aftertaste of lactic acid, yeast and faint wheat.

Tasty, though surprisingly sharp. I suspect the acidity has increased while it was sat in my garage. The flavour is most reminiscent of unsweetened yoghurt, with a tartness similar to grapefruit juice. Earthy yeast dominates, with subtle grain and wheat taking a back seat. Light but refreshing, and would certainly be nice on a warm day. It's a simple beer, and I find it very drinkable (preferably without the syrup that the Germans insist on adding). Worth trying if you come across it.

330ml bottle from The Cave (Glasgow, £1.49):
Cloudy pale, yellow colour that has tinges of orange in there too. The head is an almost non-existent one with a bubbly lacing around the circumference but not much else.

Sour & fruity with citrus and lemon making an appearance but it is the sourness that is the most noticeable. There is some light wheat and a touch of acidity in there too but it is fairly light overall.

Very sour tasting beer with a good helping of acidity and plenty of citrus flavours coming through. There is a lot of lemon zest and some wheat flavouring too but again the sourness takes over in this one.

A light body and a pretty refreshing feel helped with the strong carbonation. The sourness is there again and the beer is quite tangy but has decent drinkablity.

A very sour tasting beer with citrus and some wheat but other than that there isn't a lot to report on this one. It was fairly easy to drink after the initial acidity and sourness settled down slightly.

Cloudy pale yellow color, made 2 fingers of head.
Sour aroma with hints of citrus and fruit, mostly lemon.
Taste follows aroma, very acid, zesty lemon and quite sour. Aftertaste is also acid and astringent. Imperceptible alcohol, easy to hide just 3% within this personality.
Light body with a good carbonation and small bubbles.
I felt like taking an effervescent C vitamin. Interesting but didn’t fell like asking another one. Though not knowing what I was drinking ahead didn’t help.
