Brownish and transparent colour, small lasting off-white head. No doubt it’s a pale ale, but it seems to be relatively modestly hopped. Aroma includes biscuits, finish is a little sweet. A more than decent alternative to your Mexican lager. Nothing special but not bad.

355ml bottle. Two-fiddy a pop - how can I resist, for the next offering for this brewery in Alberta? Sign me up, as my coworker proclaimed earlier today.

This beer pours a clear, medium bronzed amber hue, with one skinny finger of feebly foamy off-white head, which isn't long for this world, and leaves a concurrent minimal streak of fibrous lace around the glass.

It smells of fruity, sweet bready malt, a slight metallic edge, and a light grassy, earthy hoppiness. The taste is more bready, somewhat biscuity malt, a bit of toffee/caramel, some mild buttery notes, and a nice, thought fairly neutered, citrusy hop rejoinder.

The bubbles are agreeably sedate, though nowhere near dead, the body a steady medium weight, especially for the purported style, and equally smooth. It finishes quite off-dry, the sweet malt exhibiting some newfound pastry characteristics to augment the existing sweetness base, as the hops seem to have dialed things back to lo-fi.

A not-so-sanely categorized beer - this is a pale ale, no foolin', with a clear identity schism between Yankee and Red Coat - regarding the booze alone (props though to the seamless integration) discounts the given classification (Miiild? There's nothing miiild about it!). Anyway, a decent ale, flavourful, and moderately hopped. Worth the pesos, that point is beyond reproach.

Picked this bottle up at our hotel bar/restaurant. Spotted in a few other locations in Puerto Vallarta, and also found the El Deposito in town [EDIT: El Deposito was closed upon further inspection.] which I think is run by the Minerva brewery.
Poured into glass, presented with nice inch thick head of off white color, nice lacing with a little lingering. Color is copper, nice carbonation.

Smell is full Of nice fresh hops, light grassiness from the EKG, followed by a solid light caramel malt note, light toast, very nicely done.

Taste is clean, crisp malt flavors, very well balanced mix of caramel and toasted malt; hop freshness is there as well, very fresh and tasty.

Mouthfeel is somewhat on the more bitter side of mild to me, stronger bitterness on the tongue, but carbonation and sweetness balance.

Overall, best Mexican beer I've had and nice to have something different; can see how this picked up a gold at World Beer Cup 2010.

Had in Cancun.

Nice fizzy 1 finger head fades at a med pace, a little hazy golden nectar orange color.

Nose actually has some decent hops, mostly earthy herbal grassy variety, light gritty malts, light pale malts, mostly UK style bittering english hops, mostly herbal, earthy, grassy, light esters, but not too vegetative.

Taste is similar to nose, a light grainy gritty malts, pale malts with a touch of metallic skunkish flavor. Then earthy herbal hops, decent bitterness with some grassy and gritty hop flavors. Again like an English bitter with grassy herbal hops, hint of esters, but not too U.K. Hedgerow like. Finish is a bit more bitter, dry, light malts, more grassy herbal hops.

Mouth is med to a bit lighter bodied, decent carb.

Overall not bad, better than pretty much anything else around here, decent english pale, slight skunk but barely, never know how the beers are treated here.

This beer won a Gold Medal for English Style Mild Ale at the World Beer Cup(year not specified). Very Light hop aroma and caramel aroma is pleasing. The color is really nice (caramel/orange color). Has a light malt and a light bitterness to it. Could use a little more fruit/esters taste however with this being a "Mild Ale" I think they hit it spot on. If you are into Mild Ales this really is a good beer.

Golden brown with a touch of red or orange. Head looks soapy at first and not very tall, but the cap remains and leaves a hint of lacing. Appearance comes in a little higher than expected.

Nose is malty with a good dose of biscuit, way too clean for any pale ale, English or American. The hoppy aromas come in on the citric spectrum with a little herbal note.

Caramelized malt leads up front, with a fruity hop note and a sweet finish. Fairly straightforward English mild with toffee diacetyl notes, but more citric hopping than a typical version of that style.

Body is a little thin, finishes with a strange note of metallic something or other that doesn't follow from the ingredients. Sessionable and decent but not quite as good as I was hoping.
