750ml classically odd-shaped BdB bottle purchased from Slowbeer in Melbourne.

Pours a full pinkish amber colour, with the pink washing out and disappearing when held to the the light. Head forms a fine film, but dissipates to a ring of white after a brief period. Some streaks of fine lace. Carbonation is also very fine, and abundant when tilted. Looks pretty decent.

Nose is powerfully flavoured with raspberries, with the fruitiness coming through really very strongly. Under this is a suggestion of funky acidity, and perhaps a faint wet grain character, but there's no question: the "lamponi" provide the bulk of the aroma here.

Taste is not so straight, but doesn't really intrigue me with its complexities. Instead, we get more of that slight wet grain character, and more of the real funk, both of which obscure and confuse the purpose of the beer a bit. There's some true tartness on the back, but by then the grainy character has come forward, meaning that instead of the fresh citric bite that might have accompanied it, the tartness accentuates a harshness.

Feel is clear and crisp, and with a pleasant bite at least.

Overall, this is fair enough, but I've had better from BdB. This feels a bit slapdash—like adding raspberries to a beer that was disappointing as a straight wild ale was going to mask the fact that it was disappointing.

A deep reddish purple with a pinkish head. Nice clarity. The aroma has raspberries and sour must. Oak and dry wheat arise heavily in the nose. Mildly sour with good raspberry notes and plenty of damp hay. Solid body. Wine like and thoroughly enjoyable.

Bought at Eataly Milan. Moderate acid, substantial body, a little salty.

On-tap at the Brick Store.

Pours a hazy copper color with a cream-colored head that leaves decent lacing.

Smells of grainy medium malts with good amounts of mildly tart raspberries and smaller amounts of grassy funk.

Tastes more complex than it smells. Moderately dry medium malts up front are joined quickly by solid amounts of lightly tart raspberries. Midway through hints of breadiness come through before being pushed aside by wet hay and grassy funk. The funk fades out into a crisp and mildly bitter ending. Mouthfeel is good, with smooth carbonation.

Overall this was an interesting beer that is very well balanced in the flavor profile. Worth a shot.

From the 11 point something ounce bottle into a teku.

Creamy off-colored head almost a finger thick. Persists well. Carbonation is healthy in the plum skin colored body. 4.5

Huge fruity nose. Raspberry, earthiness and some Brett-y yeast. Slight hints of acidity on the nose. 4

Pretty lemony on the flavor initially before taking an earthy, saison-like yeast. Mid-palate emerges the tart raspberry that then gives way to a bit of funk. There's a peppery quality that adds some character to the already interesting mix of flavors. 4

It's sour and acidic and funky and yeasty. It drinks very cleanly despite the mouth-puckering sourness. 4

This is good. Acidity is high and quite lemony but the fruit shines and there are plenty of flavors playing around here.

On tap at Blue Monk. Pours pinkish with a wisp on head. Sour aroma with a drop of brett. A full mouthfeel is striking from the first sip until the palate gets used to the frontal attack of the raspberries, malt, and enzmes. Very nicely drinkable, a deep taste of raspberry thoroughness and fruit sugar. This is the real thing.

Pours out copper with pink tinge. Hardly no head. Smells of raspberry, brett, spicy yeast. Tastes sour with mild berries. Dry and bretty. Light body with tiny prickly bubbles. Solid fruit sour.
