appearance: Clear medium Golden. Huge billowy head with loads of messy lacing that stick to the glass forever. Quite a looker.
smell: Rather subtle but getting some bread, some leafy, grassy notes, some citrus and a bit of peppery spice.
taste: Much like the nose. nicely melded flavors, with that hint of spice in the finish.
overall: very drinkable, creamy brew.

A: 2" of hazy burnt orange liquid with about 14" of thick white head. This might be the most overcarbonated beer I've ever poured. After it finally settles it reveals a glass full of hazy orange beer with a nice retained head and lace.

S: Complex interplay of sweet orange ,lemon, pine, nutmeg, clove, caramel, yeasty esters.

T: Wow. Really nice flavors of citrus hops, some pine, some tropical fruit, light nuttiness, caramel. Very yeasty as well.

M: Much more full bodied than any pilsner I've had before. Its creamy and light. Doesnt have a carbonated feel at at all. Not nearly as crisp and dry as most pilsners but I like this mouth feel a lot more.

O: Amazing pilsner. Only one Ive had that I like more is Humulus by The Bruery and its very close.

330ml bottle from Good Spirits Co, Glasgow (£4.20):
Light, clear amber with a 0.5cm, creamy looking head that is a white & holds well, leaving some nice lacing and stopping short of going patchy on the surface.

Citrus, orange peel and some spices, the beer is quite hoppy for a lager and some pine and bitterness comes through early on. Malty base with faint biscuit & sweetness rounding things off.

Grassy hops with some citrus & pine with a malt base & some sweetness making an appearance alongside some biscuit & spice. Orange, pineapple & tropical fruits all come through as well.

Thicker than I expected, coming around just past medium bodied & it seems fairly well carbonated with a pleasant citrus tang and a crisp, dry finish. The alcohol content is very well hidden throughout with a sharp feel that goes down well.

A nice beer with a good malt and citrus base, some pleasant fruits and a good balance between flavours. The alcohol content was very well hidden and the beer was a good, highly drinkable one.

Bottle: an awesome brown 330mL bottle with a super-long neck and a squat little embossed body. A very stylish label too - a great-looking package.

Appearance: pours a slightly hazy straw yellow with extremely fine, sporadic carbonation. A one-and-a-half finger white head rises up and hangs about, slowly dropping to a thick cap. Absolutely amazing lacing across the entire glass - some of the best I have ever seen. A great looking beer.

Aroma: a bit disappointing after the appearance to be honest - very light aromas of citrus and particularly tropical fruits. Pineapple and grapefruit take the fore. Update: once the beer has warmed some more (from initial taste at 6-degrees to 9-degrees) there is a stronger aroma with additional sweet sugar.

Taste: lemon citrus and tropical fruits up front, with a sweet malt backbone. Some spices also.

Aftertaste: the sweetness drops away a little, to be replaced with some hop bitterness and more spice.

Mouth feel: a moderate feel with fine carbonation, quite dry on the finish. Pretty decent.

Overall: this is the first Dogfish Head collaboration beer I have ever had, and it doesn't disappoint. Plenty of citrus hops and tropical fruits, with spice and malt. I still don't think it's worth AU$120 a case of 24 x 330mL, but one every now and then definitely won't hurt.
