First time I've seen this bottle. Thanks beer guy at Whole Foods for pulling this one out of the back room.
Pours a deep purple red with a nice pillowy head. The color is almost reminiscent of cough syrup.
Big citrusy hops on the nose. A touch of rye.
The label says winter ale, here it says red, but this is closer to an IPA I think. A red ale in the vein of Hop Head Red from Green Flash, but less medicinal with crisper, cleaner hops, and a little rye to spice it up.
Great carbonation, medium bodied.
Not exactly what I expected but a pleasant surprise. West coast breweries love their hops!
