Appearance: Copper color clear, beautiful beer!!
Aroma: This beer is 5 months old, it is surely showing signs of decline but still has a decent nose with plenty of hops!! The Lagunitas Sucks I am having alongside this beer makes the Hippie seem not so great.
Taste: This beer is super solid when it comes down to taste!! The aroma may be lacking but the taste is still 100% awesome!!
Mouth-feel: Medium bodied, not a lot of carbonation but that is not a bad thing, the carbonation reminds me of Alpine's Pure Hoppiness, this one is a lot better though!!
Overall: I haven't reviewed a beer since Laguntas sucks, This beer made me come back and speak my mind. It's truly amazing!! I love the bubblegum finish!! I've never experienced that before. Did I mention I have been aging this beer for 5 months? I freaking love this beer!!

A - Pours a dark copper color with a small to medium head. Leaves a nice amount of lace around the glass as the head dissipates.
S - The initial aroma is pine with some citrus notes mixed in.
T - Very balanced and highly drinkable with a slightly bitter finish.
M - Medium body, very smooth with light carbonation.
O - This beer is so drinkable for an 8% ABV beer, it's almost addictive. It changed my mind about red ales. Just the right amount of hops to balance against the malt flavors. Ranks right up there with the best I've ever had.

A: Pours a dark amber with a strong foamy head from the growler with heavy retention and a strong lacing.
S: Strong piney and resinous caramel mixing with a healthy dosing of citrus.
T: First resinous pine in the taste, then a powerful caramel and clean crisp roasted malts. Very clean tasting in the malt profile and strong powerful hopping. Very impressed with this for a red and I thing Big Hoppy Monster was the last Imperial red that I had that was close to this well rounded and tasty. A bit of booze after warming and a strong herbal fresh hop finish. A very good Imperial Red that will knock your nostrils out if you take the time to inhale with this in your mouth.
M: Medium mouthfeel, light carbonation but this is from a growler so I would think it be just a little more at the time it would be poured at the brewery or if it had not traveled in a box- really though the carbonation is just right even after travel from many states away.
O: A very good, well rounded / good backboned Imperial Red that will knock your nostrils out if you take the time to inhale with this in your mouth.
Growlin at the moon BIF , thanks NewGeneric!

Imbibed at Gourmet Haus for Kern River tap takeover, 2/11/13.
Pour a ruddy copper, clear, with a finger of white head that laces like a hoppy amber should. The aroma is almost all hops: mostly grapefruit and other citrus with some pine. There is also some crystal malt in there coming across as slightly metallic. Biscuit comes through with a swirl. Taste is very similar to the aroma with it leaning on that metallic copper flavor more heavily. This taste and the pine bitterness mix together well. What this beer lacks in complexity it makes up for in this marriage of flavors working together so well and drinkability. Feel is balanced, finish is slightly dry. This one is flavorful and dangerously drinkable.

A: Dark orange with a subtle reddish tinge. The head is two fingers of off-white froth.
S: Awesome aroma. Pungent pine with excellent citrus character. Tons of grapefruit, tangerine, and orange. Super bright and expressive. Caramel and bread reside beneath, but the hops are the main attraction.
T: Candied caramel with juicy citrus and strong resin notes. Lots of pine with grapefruit, orange, and tangerine. Killer hoppy flavor. Dry finish. Well hidden alcohol throughout.
M: Medium body with upper medium carbonation. The mouthfeel is dry and sticky.
Overall: Another high quality hoppy beer from Kern River. I really hope kegs hit San Diego.
