Poured into a pint glass at KRBC, tap and bottles to go available (limited).

L: like a red, small light head, light carbonation, minimal lacing. cloudy.

S: You can smell the resinous hops off the bat. This is gonna be good.

T ; This is like a Citra in disguise. This is an aggressive red ale, not for the feint hearted, but definitely down my alley. Definitely lives up to its Imperial status. If you don't like hop character then I doubt you will like this.

F : Smooth and leaning towards hop bitterness. No overly lingering resin or hops though.

This is a great red ale, certainly not passive in character. I have not tasted the other anniversary renditions, but this is very Citra in character, and I love Citra. Between this, the new Barleywine, and the Knee Deep collab, KRBC has really impressed of late. BTW - I bought my bottle limit (6) and already spoken for with future trades.

a brilliant red ale, thanks to drlovemd87 for getting me this beer "because it reminded him of me". not sure if that's a compliment or not, but this beer is damn good, so im not offended. brick red on the pour with plenty of body and a sexy two full inches of white fluff on top. the nose is really hopped up, honey sweet from the red malt, dusty and earthy too, but the hops take center stage. I am not super familiar with summit hops, but they have a really high alpha acid presence here, as well as a robust orangey citrus profile that tastes incredible with the richer red malt. the hops are just great in this, not bitter until the very end. the mouthfeel is full bodied but not heavy, it stays creamy throughout, and is very satisfying as a fall beer. overall an incredible first impression from kern river, and although this isn't the beer that makes them famous, its got me dying to try their ipas. yummy red beer right here with an assertive and unique hop profile. dangerously easy drinking.

Another good one from Kern River. Bottled 2 weeks ago. Poured into a large flute.

Dark Amber/Copper color. Small head. Lots of lacing. Looks good.

Smell the hops right away. Pine being abundant.

Balanced taste. The hops give a little bite, much more than a typical red. Very nicely done.

Lightly carbonated, medium body.

Overall a red that I'd drink again. Nicely done Kern.
