On a quick weekend getaway to Memphis the original plan was to go to the downtown Saucer. But after spending the late afternoon/early evening on Beale Street we decided to head for the suburbs and Cordova location. The place is on a modern suburban shopping street. Big indoor open room and outdoor seating with typically good Saucer atmosphere and cute waitresses. From everything I can tell Memphis is not what you would consider a great beer city, but Saucer manages to singlehandedly raise things a notch with a decent selection of regional distribution beers (Yazoo, Ghost River, Southern Magnolia) and national favorites. Crowd was just what you would expect at a Saucer, lively but not obnoxious, friendly but not in your face. Overall an enjoyable evening. Still have to mention my long term complaint with all five Saucers I've been to - dump the seasonal beer menu. Stop wasting the waitress and my time going through a menu that's effective for three months despite the fact that your inventory changes daily....

The flying saucer is my go to pub style restaurant in my down time, I love the food and I love the variety of beer they have to offer. They have memberships for customers who dare try 200? different brands of brew for 18 bucks, I might just join! Always a fun atmosphere, waitresses are very nice and usually know what to pick out if you can't decide. It is a bit pricey but hey they've got to make money some how off of the expensive brews so don't complain! I highly recommend

We live in Tupelo MS and this is by far the best bar within a 100mile drive. After going to the FS downtown Memphis a few times, we got fed up with the bums, traffic and complete fools on Beale so we decided to try this one. I am so glad we did, I don't feel like I should worry about my car being stolen while I'm having a beer, and the crowd there is a lot more laid back too. The beer selection is slightly smaller then the one downtown but it's still pretty impressive. The outside area is nicely heated during wintertime and inside it's a smoke free area, which is not mandatory in Memphis from what I hear. Service has always been great, the place is clean, the music isn't overbearing and did I mention yet the beer selection is great?

I would love to return to this Saucer one day. My wife, then girlfriend, did a summer internship in Memphis and lived not more than a mile from this spot.

Every other week I would make a drive down on Friday from St. Louis to visit and we both agreed each and every time that there was no better way to end the week than to sit outside at Saucer and have some good food and terrific beer.

She loved their salads and I would generally get some chicken tenders or something else not as good for you.

It was also a unique and unexpected chance to further my beer count in their saucer club. I have 50 of 200 down and unfortunately don't know when I will get to add more.

The service was always a little on the slow side and it could get buggy outside but overall it didn't matter so much, as it was nice to sit out there and relax with one of the hundreds of awesome beer offerings.

If you are less into craft beer, they have the regular stuff too and if you want wine they do have a limited selection.

If you're in the Memphis burbs and love great beer, I would join the saucer club and get it done there.

For those who don't know what the saucer club is, if you join (costs money but you get a shirt) you will get a card to swipe in their computer which then prints out a receipt for the beer you want. The server will take that receipt and ensure the database gets updated with the beers you had. You can then go online and track your progress towards 200, which entitles you to a plate on the wall with your name on it and a party with a nice credit towards beer. There are some milestone prizes too. When I hit #50 I got a free pint. There is a 3 beer limit per night (and no, going from late night one day to after midnight on another does not count).
