Standard 12oz brown bottle, capped. Color is that same copper-brown that you would expect from a pale ale or light IPA. Very small head doesn't really seam to last.
Smell is exactly what I would expect. Most pumpkin ales seem to be more about the spices than actual pumpkin flavor. I am assuming that is because pumpkin doesn't have a dominant smell or flavor. Anyways, this one has lots of spice including cinnamon, allspice and clove. I love the malt integration as well.
Taste is very smooth. A lot more cinnamon comes out in the taste and really stays through out. I can't detect any much for hop flavors but that isn't what this beer seems to be about. I really like the lighter carbonation as well. It adds to the drinkability. The sweetness detracts slightl for me.
Overall, a solid beer and one that I would recommend for "fall beer" lovers. As a native Granite Stater, I have a self proclaimed Smuttynose bias.
