I poured this 12 oz. beer into a nonic pint glass.
A: cloudy amber color, a 2-finger cream-colored head quickly falls into a sturdy cap with very good lacing.
S: toast, graham cracker pie crust, pumpkin pie spices, vanilla, the hop aroma is faint, herbal and floral.
T: the spices mingle with the graham cracker crust-like flavor of the malts to produce a decidedly autumnal flavor combination, the finish is dry, herbal, a bit grassy, and spicy. It is a well-done combination, but it seems just a tad too spicy. Perhaps a bit more sweetness could have matched the spiciness? Still, it is refreshing to drink a pumpkin ale that does not try to mimic a pumpkin pie in its entirety.
M: light to medium-bodied, lightly silky texture, moderate carbonation.
O: Pretty tasty, but the spiciness is a bit much for me.
