The first pour from a fresh keg (first 4 pours, when all was said and done) at the Lazy Boy Saloon. I am not generally a big fan of the pumpkins, but a brewer of this quality certainly deserved a shot. And they score with this one. A nice color, nothing too special, had a nice white head that laced well. You can smell the pumpkin, but it does not overwhelm. The smell follows directly to the taste, that is to say there are no surprises: it tastes like it smells. There is certainly pumpkin, and perhaps some spices, but the hops and malts let you know that you were drinking beer. Had decent carbonation. I was surprised when I had a second (3rd, 4th). So the drinkability was obviously good. A fine effort from a fine brewer

Some pumpkin comes through in the aroma, along with spice and a bit of a caramel malt character, as well as a bit of a vegetable note. The flavor is also a bit more mild in the pumpkin spice, with a little more bitterness than other pumpkin beers, though more like an under ripe fruit or herbal tea bitterness. The flavor reminds me of freshly raked leaves. Not as pumpkin heavy as other pumpkin beers, but it’s still there, and the beer itself seems better crafted than most. An excellent beer.

A copper/amber pour with 2 fingers of head, slow dissipation and a bit of lacing - unusual for the style. Smells of roasted pumpkin seed, nutmeg, clove. The flavor is a bit roasty, which is nice (especially as a breakfast beer), subtle notes of pumpkin spices, toasted bread.
Medium body with higher carbonation..
This drinks like a beer, brewed for fall season... Not like a pumpkin beer brewed to compete for the most pumpkin flavor. With my tiredness of pumpkin beers, I can appreciate this one.
