Enjoyed out of a 12 oz brown bottle stamped with "best by 11/07/13". Poured into a 16 oz nonic glass.
Appearance - Promising start with a fluffy yellowish-white head of two fingers. Body is a complex blend of shades of yellow, peach, orange and amber gold. Hazy with the dry hopping sediment. Retention is excellent, leaving the sides of the glass with a consistent sticky mottling. The foam finally settles to a frothy layer about a half-finger thick.
Smell - Grapefruit, barley, grass, and a definite presence of malt to provide balance. I would prefer a bit more juiciness, but the smell is promising.
Taste - Again citrus, this time more faint than before, with a healthy dose of malty sweetness coming through. Though the fruity aspect of the citrus is subdued, the bitterness is still very much present.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, with high carbonation and a drying, bitter finish that lingers.
Overall, a solid IPA, but there are many many more that I would choose ahead of this one. I can't help wonder if mine has a couple months on it, because I don't get the juicy fruit explosion that I read about in other reviews. The fact that it's still good, even if different, is the sign of a well-crafted IPA.

Appearance: pours a golden orange color. with a generous 2 plus finger white foamy head that fades at a decent rate and leaves a small lacing behind. good clarity.
Smell: strong crystal/caramel malt sweetness. hops are decently strong with some pine, resin and a smaller amount of citrus.
Taste: opens with a strong sweetness from the crystal and caramel malts. afterwards there is some bitterness coming in with flavors of pine and resin. overall it comes off slightly grassy.
Mouthfeel: medium to lighter body. some lingering bitterness, a touch too sweet to me.
Overall: well before its printed freshness date but still a little lacking in the hops. too strong and sweet malts. also the grassiness I found in the taste throws me off a bit.
