I had this beer a while ago and liked it. On a whim I bought a case and have been very pleased with this IPA
A: I am a home brewer and I like cloudy or dirty looking brews. Smuttynose must not filter this beer which is a big plus. Every pour of this beer is a murky light amber with a bold white fluffy head. AS the beer settles there is a strong hop haze and plenty of lacing.
S: Finast Kind smells like sweet citrus hops, there is a hop bloom on opening the bottle which is again a big plus for an IPA.
T: I love the intense grapefruit flavor of this beer which ends with a touch of sweet hop character. The hops stick to my lips another quality I expect in a great IPA.
M: This IPA is not thin, the hop oils last after every drink sticking to the roof of my mouth....awesome.
D: Excellent, is now one of my go to beers for a daily drinker.
I also have to add that this IPA is 31.99 on avg here in central pa which is on the cheaper side. I love this dirty IPA and I love that Smuttynose keeps the price points affordable for people like me!!

Appearance: pours a golden orange color. with a generous 2 plus finger white foamy head that fades at a decent rate and leaves a small lacing behind. good clarity.
Smell: strong crystal/caramel malt sweetness. hops are decently strong with some pine, resin and a smaller amount of citrus.
Taste: opens with a strong sweetness from the crystal and caramel malts. afterwards there is some bitterness coming in with flavors of pine and resin. overall it comes off slightly grassy.
Mouthfeel: medium to lighter body. some lingering bitterness, a touch too sweet to me.
Overall: well before its printed freshness date but still a little lacking in the hops. too strong and sweet malts. also the grassiness I found in the taste throws me off a bit.
