A: Hazy bright orange has a ton of mixed effervesce in the glass sticking to the glass walls. A beautiful two finger bread white colored head has a porous and pitted surface. Excellent retention provides a big sticky mess of lacing. Really nice presentation per style.

S: Perfumy delivery, dried roses and berries. Dried grains, soft pilsner with some fruity green melon grind, of moderate awareness.

T: Fruity flavor, citrus-peach with breakfast fruit of melon and some apple-citrusy fruit. Touches of cantaloupe and banana with some oranges. Fresh grains, spicy hops with some tropical and soft malt touches of pilsner and fresh bread.

M: Big strong carbonation presence, crisp with a soft and creamy palate.

O: By style and tradition kolsch are usually a lot more reserved and tame flavor-wise, Smutty ups the ante here, and there is nothing wrong with that. There is room for tradition, as well exaggerated interpretation. This is a big and bold interpretation, bright and fruity with a supercharged crispness and flavor. Beautiful and enjoyable drink-ability, outstanding per style making for a perfect summer day quencher paired with fish on the grill.

A: The beer is crystal clear yellow in color and has a light to moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high white head that settled down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of green grapes and biscuit hops are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, having flavors of green grapes and notes of biscuit malts. There is a slight amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is easy to drink and is a good American representation of a German beer style. I liked the aromas and flavors of green grapes in this beer.

Canned 7/20/17
Pour a Hazy gold with a finger plus of white foamy head that dissipates to a thin cap leaving flecks of sticky lacing along the sides. Yeasty and a bit floral. Tastes a bit bready with a thin white grape on the end. Medium body, almost heavy for a kolsch.

Poured from a pint can into a nonic pint glass

A- Hazy golden, tall, light and foamy white head. Sticky lacing runs down the side of the glass.
S- Floral hops, white grape, cracker, straw/hay
T- Taste follows the nose pretty closely- Slightly spicy, but mostly floral hops, light cracker malt. A bit of a white wine taste.
M- Light body, very crisp and refreshing, easy drinking with a clean finish.
O- Smuttlabs did a great job on this beer, it has everything there is to expected when it comes to a kolsch. A great example of the style.
