Pale tangerine gold glow for body, capped lightly and small with a foamy fluffy head of whiteness. Some very well placed lacing is sketched across the glass in broken drippy sheets.
Aroma is of funky banana, pear, starfruit, and other tiny portions of citrus thrown in to add some nice touches of grapefruit and lemon along with some earthy weizen-like yeast.
Taste is quite deep and candyish with a broad ranging citrusy, tropical tow of dull orange, old banana, starfruit, stone fruit, and pear. Yeastyness is dull yet just peppy enough with a very dull dryness and funky clove and coriander spice to it. Leaves a touch of earthyness as it finishes low ended and dull with a light dusting of yeast and leftover dull oitrus.
Solid medium body, if not more so, quite smooth and rounded, with a boldness of heft in the right places to keep the palate engaged with all the complexity of its yeasty textures and spice while laying the malty groundwork of the pale citrusy stuff.
Very enjoyable and soild Smuttynose stuff!

This certainly live up to the big beer name. My sample has 2012 marked as the bottle conditioning date. I guess it's ready.
It's a pretty golden color with nice natural foaminess. The aroma isn't huge, but it is big and sweet and gives a warning. The taste follows through with a malty hugeness, offset by yeasty and hoppy hugeness. It's properly balanced, but huge on all taste fronts. Perhaps the thing out of balance is liquid - this could be diluted significantly and still be flavorful.
The aftertaste lingers bitter on the tongue. Overall this is a appropriately big brew that works. I was hoping for a more delicate take on the style but this is brutal.
