I've had this on tap a few times, and just felt I needed to review it because it is one fantastic big DIPA.
A - It's a golden yellow/orange. Has a nice fluffy white head. It leaves a decent lacing down the glass.
S - Not as strong as you'd expect after you've tasted it. It's definitely got a smell of strong hops. I feel like this thing is going to be hop forward, but nothing prepared me for the taste. I wish the smell lived up to the taste, but beer is for drinking anyway, right?
T - Holy hell this thing is hopped to the point of ridiculousness and I love it. Fresh on tap there are few beers I enjoy more than this. I had it at an open bar the first time on new year's eve. I had 6 of these. Needless to say I was in no position to review, but luckily I found it again recently and it was just as I remembered. I feel like I could eat raw hops I love bitterness so much, but by the 6th one of these my mouth was ruined. I absolutely love the taste, and for a Big Ass IPA it lives up to the name. The hop flavor was mainly citrus, but the bitterness is the main attraction here.
M - The best part is that you don't notice the alcohol in this beer. It's 9.6%, but it goes down super smooth with a nice amount of carbonation and a huge resounding bitter finish. Delicious.
O - I couldn't give this a 5 overall because of the slightly lackluster aroma, and the fact that it's a bit one note on the bitterness. But in my opinion, this thing is the ultimate bitter bomb and one that I'm so glad I got fresh to get the full effect. Don't get this if you don't want to get slapped in the face by hops. Beers that people find quite bitter like Ruination don't really compare to this in my opinion. Ruination doesn't even seem too bitter to me, but this will always satisfy my cravings for a bitter DIPA.

$2.89 for a 12oz bottle @ Siciliano's. Brewed with North American 2-Row, Crisp Pale Ale malts. Hopped with Bravo and Cascade (bittering), Bravo and CTZ (Flavoring), and Glacier, Nugget and CTZ for dry hops.
Pours out to a murky burnt orange, lots of little particulate bits floating about, forming a modest light yellow head with good retention and lacing. Moderate carbonation, ~2.5 carbs or so. The nose is ripe with mango, grapefruit, apricot and tangerine. Not skunky, pissy, slightly piney. Mouthfeel is tart with hop acidity and is full bodied and moderately syrupy. The taste is a recap of the aroma. Lots of grapefruit here, sitting on top of a big malt base with some residual sweetness to balance out the rather firm hop bitterness. Pith, pith, pith. Quite bitter overall, a bit much for me. Astringent puckering finish. Did I mention the paint peeling bitterness? Cleanly fermented, no off flavors or aromas.
This is not the kind of DIPA that I enjoy, but if you like your IPA's bitter, try it.
