The beer a “chill hazed” light gold or yellow if you like, head is modest in size, creamy in texture and a brilliant white in color, the lace forms a decent sheet to hide the glass. Nose I citrus crisp, light hints of grain, fresh and pleasing as noses go, start lightly tart and the top a bit thin for my liking. Finish is sternly acidic; hops are placid, somewhat tart aftertaste, and not one of my favorites from an otherwise excellent brewery, just a bit watery and weak.

Pours a hazy yellow color with a tight bubbly head that holds steady until the last drink, leaving a nice sticky lace. Aromas of wheat, coriander, and lemon zests are prominent with grassy undertones. The taste is quite citrusy and spicy. Very well balanced with a nice, smooth finish. I thought this was a pretty decent Belgian Wit. Not quite in the same league as Hoegaarden or Allagash White, but it was good and very drinkable.

This has to be the best white ale I have ever had. I savored every drop of it and wished there was more. The taste, the spices, and the feel were awesome! It had a truly distinct taste that I have yet to find duplicated. The mouthfeel and the drinkability were off the charts. Available in the Big Beer Series for only a limited time. I wish this was available all year.

Smuttynose trying something it shouldn't. Yellowish beer with a slight head. Tastes of orange. Not a pounding beer, but good for glass to say you tried it. Smuttynose has a much better selection than this.

Cloudy, yellowish gold with some orangish areas topped by a thin, bright white head that drops quickly to just a collar. The aroma is limited. The body is thin with a moderate carbonation that gives a smooth but limited mouthfeel. The flavor is tangy with orange & coriander. Normally I expect a more lemony-citrus character, but this was definitely orange. The orange peel also seems to have given it some light astringency and an odd metallic taste in the finish.

Presentation: 12oz brown. A pleasant label that appears to have a picture of a Belgian canal? "A traditional ale with spices added" is noted on the label. Brewed month also scored on the label.

Appearance: Hazy and pale with a tight, whispy, white foam lace head, which lightly clinges to the glass.

Smell: Smells of smoke and spice. Like smoked meat? Like beef jerkey to be specific.

Taste: Light malts, lemony, spicey, peppery and grassy. Very balanced, nice mouthfeel with an ending twang & spice.

Notes: This is one of the better American brewed Wit Ales that I had in quite sometime. Complex, drinkable and refreshing ... different.
