Notes/Commercial Description:
Made for taking a break from the Sturm und Drang of modern life, this elegantly refreshing pilsner was created with German malt balanced with the spicy tang of Czech Saaz hops. The bread and biscuit flavors of the grain are topped with the floral character of the Noble hop, which may just get you to shimmy into your favorite lederhosen, bust into a quick schuhplattler and loudly proclaim, “Das ist Vunderbar!”

Prost!

12oz bottle poured into a pilsner glass.

A: Pours a clear, dull straw yellow. Highly effervescent. Big rocky white head shows no intention of leaving. Clumps of lacing cling to the glass here and there.

S: Floral and grassy hops with a spike of citrus. Malt base smells of grain and freshly baked bread. Simple but pleasing, and on point for the style.

T: Hop bitterness is stronger than the nose suggests. Grassy, slightly herbal with a leafy edge, a touch oily, and sharply citric. Lime leaf and hints of spritzy lemon. Bitterness is firm and even throughout. Malt tastes are dry with slight grain and biscuit undertones. Dry finish with a hint of grain and a lingering oily, citric hop bitterness.

M: Light in body with a light but smooth and creamy feel. Crisp carbonation.

O: Tasty and an easy quaff. Can't ask for much more on a hot summer day. The sharp hop bitterness adds some acidity that, when taken in tandem with the crisp carbonation, make this beer even more thirst-quenching and drinkable.

12oz bottle served in a pilsner glass.

L - hazed yellow color with a fluffy white head that thinned but still left some waves of lacing.

S - grassy Euro-hops with light malt in the background.

T - well balanced flavor of sweet malt and lightly bitter hops.

F - light/medium bodied, crisp and refreshing.

O - a fine example of the style.

12 ounce bottle with best before dating (11/14/12) purchased just the other day from DeCicco's in Ardsley, NY.

Pours very light and very clear. Near white head, shows moderate retention, before going to a thicker film and leaving just some quickly departing bits of lacing.

Sniff of some light sweet malts.

Light and easy drinking, hints of rye and lime. Dangerously sessionable. Clean and straight forward. Decent pilsner.

Poured into a 13 oz tulip glass. Pours a straw yellow with a half inch of white head, that leaves some lace. Smell is grass, lemon, biscuit, and grains of Paradise. Taste is very much that, balanced wonderfully, nothing really dominant. Body is medium thin, great amount of life, not too dry, and easy drinking. This is a excellent pilsner, could hammer the 4 pack really fast on a hot day.

Great looking beer when poured. Light straw color with just a touch of haze. Good head that's in it for the long haul. The smell is a pleasant mix of light malt, spicy hops and that lager yeast that is so refreshing in the heat. The hops are up front in flavor, but not strong, just present. This fades into the light malt and lager yeast notes. Crisp and refreshing!

Pours a hazy pale yellow with a white head that has some limited retention. No lace.

Lighter malt, with mineral bitterness in the nose. Some floral sweetness as well.

Not sure how to feel about this one. Decent malt with grassy notes, with some mineral bitterness to round out the flavors. The grassiness works, but something seems to be missing. Strength of flavor? Not sure. Finishes crisp.

Lighter bodied and crisp.

Overall, not a replacement for the German imports, but a decent enough beer.

From the bottle stamped with an expiration date of 11/14/12. Sampled on June 14, 2012. The pour is pale yellow and slightly murky with an excitable carbonation that turns to a ring and sticks around. When I check out the aroma I really get that traditional German bready malt characteristic with a vague hop note on the backside. The body is mostly light with a keen creamy sensation. The taste is also rather malty but with a vague citrus twist and a soft but bitter hop finale. It works well on a hot day.

Modest bar pour head, but it leaves plenty of minute webby lace. Pale gold color with a touch of haze.

The smell is the weak point of this beer with plenty grainy aromas.

Mildly fruity, particularly in the swallow. Light hop throughout. Decent body and carbonation. Good example of a German Pils.

Poured into a pint glass. This pours a hazy pale straw color with two fingers of frothy white head. A little bit of sparse lace.

Mild grassy hops on the aroma with hints of lemon and some toasty malts. The pallet has a nice biscuit malt character with some hints of grassy hops in the finish.

Nice light body with good carbonation. Overall this one is real good. I'll be sure to grab some four packs of this often.
