Poured a 12oz bottle onto my tulip glass.
A- Dark black with a nice tan head. The head did not last very long but the lacing was nice and sticky.
S- Coffee, roasted malt, and bittersweet chcocolate. I also got a faint whiff of Formula-44 cough medicine.
T- The roasted malt comes through immediately, then coffee and the dark chocolate flavor rounds it all out. Absolutely love the bitternes of this porter.
M- Full flavor porter with a nice smooth feel in the throat and palate.
D- Really easy drinking porter and at 5.7ABV, you can definitely have a couple of these and not feel woozy.

Best by 10/01/14 at 45 degrees into snifter
Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate
Head large (5.5cm), light brown, fizzy/frothy, rapidly diminishing 3 mm ring
Lacing excellent - thick layer covering inside of glass
Body dark brown/black, opaque
Flavor of bitter roasted malt, dark chocolate, and some coffee; no hops, no alcohol, no diacetyl. Ends rapidly leaving a slight bitterness behind.
Palate medium, creamy, lively carbonation
A decent porter lacking the fruity esters and hop bitterness.

On tap at Boneyard Bistro in Sherman Oaks, CA.
Pours an opaque super dark brown with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, and char aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa, char, and citrus zest flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roast and hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with a nice balance of roast and hop aspects.
