A: Pours a clear, pale gold with a thick white head that recedes slowly.

S: Aromas of grain, minerals, crackers, biscuits, lemon, grass, herbs, and honey present themselves on the nose.

T: Notes of lemon, grass, honey, and herbs are fleeting in the mouth, as they are overpowered by flavors of crackers and minerals. The finish is brief and oddly bland-notes of honey, grass, lemon, and biscuit are just barely detectable.

M: On the lighter side of medium in terms of body and not all that dry, especially when compared to traditional examples of the style. Carbonation is far too airy, gentle, and unobtrusive for a lager of this sort. Taken as a whole, this beer feels sort of underpowered.

O: This pilsner was promising to start, but went completely downhill really fast. As far as German pilsners go, this one is seriously lacking in depth and complexity. Smuttynose can do far better and so can fans of this style.

Light lemon yellow with excellent clarity and tons of visible bubbles. Sudsy white head leaves a layer of foam and spotty patterns of lacing.

Bright and fresh, citric, floral and spicy aroma with hints of ginger root.

Solid malt body of soft wheat bread. Burst of assertive citric and leafy hop. Super fresh flavor with a bright, crisp finish.

Light to medium bodied. Smooth throughout and crisp in the end. Very well carbonated.

One of the most tasty pilsners out there. A true classic!

Pale straw, clear with visible rising carbonation bubbles. Head, large at first, fades rather quickly. Aroma is zesty, bright and crisp. Clean cracker malt with lemon. Taste matches with lemon pepper and fresh grainy malt. A well done pils that I'm sure I'll return to again and again.

The color is cloudy and yellow but interesting. The almost unfiltered look masks the carbonation that bubbles through the body. All this effervescent bubbling and no signs of a head. The pour was true but it amounted to a wispy layer of loosely knit bubbles that just blew away.

The scent is fruity with grainy cereal malts, light barley, fresh bread and tinges of hop bitterness. At first glance, with my nose that is, I caught lemon twist and light banana. It was fleeting but then true Pilsner scent arrived.

The taste and feel are deeply intertwined as a crisp clean refreshing taste ends in a similar feel. Cereal maltiness compliment a bready grain and end in more hops than in typical Pilsners. Very easy on the throat the carbonation is easily visible but barely noticeable. This is a light airy version of a Pilsner and a very good one at that.

given a single bottle in Feb 2014. Poured into a Pilsener glass, served at fridge temp.

appearance: hazy honeycomb yellow with a thick soft white head.

smell: lemon citrus with sugary notes. The usual spicy hop bouquest which is Pilsener trait is absent.

taste: thick malt with a vegetal funk.

mouthfeel: decent.

overall: maybe a bad bottle or maybe just bad beer.
