Part of their brewers battle and served exclusively at their St. Catherine location downtown.
A - Pours a clear golden copper colour, finger of head with little retention and some sporadic lacing.
S - Nice smoked oak, hints of peat, leather, burnt tobacco, sweet corn, caramel and a leafy green finish.
T - A solid dose of smoke off the top, with peat notes dominating, the sweet corn and buttery caramel coming through on the finish with some sour dough bread a leafy green, vegetal finish.
M - Medium bodied, smooth and surprisingly dry.
O - This was a tasty brew, through and through. A solid dose of smoke, though is surprisingly drinkable. If you're a fan of smoked beer, this is sure to satisfy, but I can imagine this one would likely receive mixed reviews.
Serving type: on-tap
