Bright tangelo with pineapple colored edges. Multiple fine bubble streams have created a two finger chunk of manila colored foam that looks pretty good. It also melts in attractive fashion and is beginning to leave splotches of sudsy lace as it does so.

The nose is a pleasant combination of sunny citrus and coriander. Sounds like a Belgian wit, right? That's pretty much what the brewers were going after, except they decided to add a 'pale ale amount of bitterness'. Hmmm... that should right up my lupulin lovin' alley.

Fatty Boombalatty is boldly flavored and tastes more Belgian than most wits, probably due to an especially estery yeast strain. It also has more hops than beer of this style usually sees. Like most everything from Furthermore, this stuff is both unique and delicious.

The closest comparison is equal parts Belgian pale ale and witbier, with a strong assist from American citric hops. Flavors include sugared barley malt, orange peel, coriander and pink bubblegum. And it all comes together beautifully. If you don't know what Belgian ale yeast esters taste like, crack open a Fatty and enjoy the ride.

I'm glad I didn't review the semi-aged bottle in my cellar and waited to review this fresh one. The bite and the flavor from the citrus fruity hops is the perfect counterpoint to the malt sweetness and the flavors imparted by the other ingredients. This is very good beer and has great within its grasp.

The mouthfeel is more semi-big American ale than Belgian ale. That's okay. There are very few breweries in this hemisphere that can compare with the masters when it comes to mouthfeel. It may not be fat, but it's definitely chubby. Nicely done carbonation as well.

This is almost certainly a beer that is best consumed fresh. Once those hops begin to fade, the yin and the yang will suffer a bit. After all, yin without yang isn't nearly as good. Fatty Boombalatty is da bomb... and Furthermore is an underappreciated gem.

Fatty pours a golden color with a small head. There is a yeasty toasty aroma with big banana notes. The taste is similar, big banana notes, toasty and yeasty. Nice full taste, good body. Overall its a fruity bpa.

On-tap at Jimmy's Island Grill in Milwaukee:

Pours clouded amber with a frothy white head. Lacing sticks.

The smell is of citrus - orange peel, a fruity character towards mango, caramel, bread and coriander.

The taste is of a generous amount of coriander upfront and throughout with caramelized wheat, orange peel and a spicy sweet and sour finish.

Fuller-side of the style spectrum, creamy and refreshing.

A strong, yet drinkable, unique, but fitting, witbier/Belgian pale ale.

It paired wonderfully with my plate of coconut-breaded shrimp!
