Appearance – Pours a super dark brown/black color with a large, thick creamy brown head. Very nice lacing.

Smell – Licorice, toasted malt, molasses, chocolate, and oak. A bit weak, but gets better as the beer warms.

Taste – Dark chocolate, malt, molasses, vanilla, and oak. Tastes much stronger than the smell.

Mouthfeel – Very creamy, with a nice carbonation. The alcohol is noticeable, but doesn’t feel like 13.2%.

Drinkability – Very easy to drink at 13.2% abv. This is an underrated stout.

WoW! It's been alittle while since I guess I've last had this brew. Just now saw the label change. When did that happen? Either way, it's still there best brew to me. So, basically, it's still the same brew, taste wise to me.

Poured into a chalice a very nice deep black color, very nice carbonation, nice little creamy tan head, with some nice sticky lacing to follow and a nice medium sized island in the middle. The nose is malty, with some chocolate/toffee notes, slight roast/smoke note, licorice, and slight oak note. The taste is very nice, malty, sweet, nice touch of chocolate/toffee, nice licorice note, with a slight hint of roasty oak. Full Body, smooth/silky, goes down very nicely, ABV hidden very well. Very Drinkable, this is one fine brew. Very nicely done Uinta. To me the best they've done to date.

I'll be the first to review this excellent beer. Dont worry. Poured into a tulip glass. Looks like spent motor oil. 2 1/2 fingers head. Lasted quite a while. Completely opaque. Pleasant smell of oak and the right amount of bright black licorice. Taste oaky and loads of dark chocolate. Almost like dark chocolate covered cherries. High alcohol content is well hidden. Black coffee on the back end. Thick lacing clings to the glass sip after sip. Mouthfeel is a very viscous oily frothy feel. Huge malt. But enough bitterness to keep things balanced. Overall, i like this beer alot. Unique take on a quad.
