Poured into a Pint Glass

Appearance - Dark Orange with a clear look. There is some very sparse lacing along the sides.

Smell - Pumpkin Pie, Cinnamon and Yeasts. Rather simple scent considering the previous beers of this category I've had, and the smell also isn't so rich.

Taste - Spices, Pumpkin, Nuts, Cinnamon and Yeasts. Despite all these flavors, the maltiness I expect out of this is just not here. All the flavors are in place, but it lacks the malty kick that it needs to be awesome.

Mouthfeel - Body is light with some moderate carbonation. The spices in the flavor add a sort of "zing" to the overall feel. It also lacks the refreshing characteristic that would compliment the flavor.

Overall - I don't get it, all the flavors are here but they just don't work because the malts aren't there to help build upon the flavors! It lacks the vibrancy that I expect from Pumpkin Ales. It comes off as inoffensive, but very disappointing

Purchased a 12oz. single bottle from Hop City in Atlanta. Served in a pint glass.

It seems like every fall I get excited about pumpkin beers. And it seems like every fall I'm more often than not disappointed. This beer is no exception. It pours a decent enough looking deep orange/amber color with a quickly dissipating head. Very minimal lacing throughout. It smells like malt liquor with a hint of nutmeg and very light clove. The pumpkin is there, barely. It tastes exactly how I expected it to. Mouthfeel is thin and overly carbonated.

Overall this is sub-par when it comes to pumpkin beers. The good ones are few and far in between, and while this one is a roughly accurate representation of the style at-large, it just isn't that good.

Serving type: Bottle into pint glass

Appearance: Pours a medium amber color with a slight haze. Head was short lived, but was coming from a bottle.

Smell: Crisp light malt with clear pumpkin aroma. Strong allspice notes with a lesser hint of clove.

Taste: While the smell resembles Southern Tier’s Pumking, the flavor is much more bitter. The flavor is definitely more spice than pumpkin.

Mouthfeel: Medium body with a slightly dry aftertaste.

Overall: The flavors are dynamic, but I feel like there could have been more pumpkin. I’m not a fan of spiced beers and this is more of a harvest seasonal than a pumpkin in my opinion. Not my favorite pumpkin beer this season.

look: 4 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.5

Appearance: Pours an amber color with a light haze. The head is around an inch tall and is off white.

Aroma: Cinnamon, allspice, light clove, pumpkin spice, cider notes. Wisps of sweet breads in the nose.

Taste: Allspice, apple cake, cinnamon, cider and some clove. The mouthfeel has a light crispness a bit like cider and finishes with a spice bite.

Notes: Not shabby of a Pumpkin beer it's drinkable and tasty. Cheers.
