2005 vintage. Thanks to Wasatch for this beer.
A: Cloudy reddish walnut color with a nice, medium creamy sandy colored head.
S: Robust burnt caramel, bubble gum, rootbeer, pine needles and some dried cocoa.
T: Starts off with simple toffee around the sides of the tongue. A dirty bitterness pops up next with never seems to leave the through the entire process. Bit of day old coffee, chocolate milk and almond add the malty experience while raisins, dark plums and loganberry offer a fruity side. Finishes with evident alcohol, some butterscotch, marshmallow and a good amount of bitterness. And dirt.
M: Medium body, fairly hard with some syrupy aspects to it.
D: I hate dirty tasting beers. If there is one thing that can turn me off from a beer, its to have it taste like there is dirt in there. Without that aspect, it would have been a lot better.
