Served in a pint glass at average fridge temps. Bottle has a best before date of 1/4/14. It was in a clearance bin at the local shop so I figured I'd give it a try.

Appearance: Light honey colored with a firm, off white and creamy head of fine bubbles. A bit of turbidity that could be from the temperature however, I did notice some tiny floating particles when the beer was at room temp. After a minute or two in the glass the head begins to sink.

Nose: The aroma just leaps out of the glass. I'm sitting like a 2 feet away and I can still pick up citrus notes, grapefruit, cooked limes, spice hop notes, key lime pie, no maltiness at all. Almost a meaty quality (not a good thing) probably from yeast autolysis.

Taste and Finish: Hop forward, slight bitterness bite, limes and citrus, spicy bite at the back of my throat, no hot alcohols or solvents. Fairly light body with a citrusy finish that lingers.

I'd say this isn't a bad beer even 7 months past its freshness date. I'd like to try a fresher version of this APA to compare. Great session beer at 4%

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass.

Appearance: pours a thick, sudsy 3+" off white head which slowly falls leaving some moderate lacing. Plenty of streaming carbonation. Color is a cloudy golden-orange with some sediment in suspension.

Aroma: pungent citrus punch you in the nose along with yeasty bread dough in the background.

Mouthfeel: light to medium bodied, somewhat oily and sticky with a dry, slightly astringent finish.

Flavor: nice blend of citrus and earthy hops, some caramel and white bread flavors, lingering hop bitterness in the finish.

Overall: well done and one of the better beers I have had in this style.

Can from Tipples. Best before 9/9/14, poured 7/31/14. Pours clear golden with a big fluffy white head. Aroma of nice floral hops, some lemon peel, a bit of soapy hop notes, and mild malt in the background. Flavor is nice bitterness up front, some grassy hops, hay, hint of citrus peel, light bready sweetness, and a slightly dirty flavor on the finish. This one is light and crisp with plus carbonation. The malts are waaay in the background. Other than the slightly weird finish on this--and it's not all that prominent--this was very nice. Maybe a bit more malt sweetness would be nice, but the. It wouldn't be Extra pale I guess. I don't get the low ratings here. Good beer that I could drink all day.
