Dark golden color, a little haze. Lots of carbonation rising up. Thick rocky head.
Fruity, some citrus, clean malt.
Clean malts, a little caramel and touch of honey. Fruity, apricot. Mild-medium hop bitterness, grassy-citrus. Finish is crisp and bitter. Body is crisp, refreshing, dry, smooth.
It's a very good American Pale Ale. Very sessionable.

Appropriately, this is a very pale straw gold with about 3/4ths of an inch of head. Nice lacing. Aroma offers some nice sharp, grassy hops, though it's a little faint. Good hop flavor, grassy with some citrus, and moderately high bitterness. Malt is very faint. Clean, light bodied, pretty refreshing. Decent hoppy session beer.

Whereas the American Pale Ale had single handedly sculpted America's craft beer culture, Uinta isn't ones to rest on those laurels. They are showing new directions for the style, knowing that reinvention and revamping is needed to keep pace.
This EPA sets the tone similarly to standard APA as an undercurrent of caramel and graham cracker develop early. And as grapefruit and orange citrus character wafts over the nose, a sense of even-keel balance emerges.
And that balance largely stays intact as the hop character intensifies in its sharpness, resinous and bitterness. Eventually the malt sweetness begins to recede and opens up to a ginger-like spice and a sprucy tone to crispen up its taste.
Its evident lighter body becomes a slight crutch as the taste falls largely unsupported in finish, exposing some iron-like mineral quality after the fade of malt and before the crisp and piney closure.
With its extra pale taste and texture, Wyld is a crisper and cleaner taste than is demonstrated by most standard American pale ale, but with such a caramelly balance, I feel that a bit more support is required to carry its taste to its full potential.
