Poured from a bottle into a shaker pint, the beer is a slightly hazed, orange-copper coloring with a sparse, filmy, clingy, white surface coat of head. Nose of caramel, pepper, orange, grapefruit, floral highlights, and resin. Very balanced nose. Flavors are bitter and slightly spice forward, with an overall roasted quality. Slight toffee notes present themselves mid-tongue, but somewhat watered down. The spice and bitter hops profiles overtake the palate towards the end, tipping any trace of balance that may have been there before. Thin, effervesced body that comes off watery. The aftertaste is short lived, with a touch of caramel mixed in with pepper spice. Clean, but lackluster finish. The beer is watered down a bit, making it "drinkable" by definition, but not overly alluring to be drank in quantity. Just misses some punch in the flavor profiles.

Live Review. Poured from one of the 6 12 oz. bottles that I bought at World Wines & Liquor in Mentor about one month ago into a clean, clear glass. Best before 05/16/13 stamped on the label. Admittedly, this was a clearance item at World Wines & LIquor so it may not be the best representative of the beer. With that in mind, here is my review.

A Less than one inch thin off white head that dissipates way too soon even for an extra pale ale. The body is a forgettable slightly hazy but translucent yellow brown. Meh. 2.5

S Muted floral hops over a light barley smell. Not dynamic, rather average. 3.0

T Taste flows directly from the smell with addition of barley husks clearly tasteable. Taste is too thin for me and again, not dynamic, interesting. In fact, it is really forgettable. 2.0

M Too much on the thin side for me. I know that an EPA is not supposed to be big, bulky or thick but really, this is too thin. 2.5

D/O Drinkability I suppose is good but really, I would not reach for a second one of these. Overall not a good EPA. 2.0

Notes: My first one of these was about a month ago and I recall it tasting exactly the same at that time.

Trying the Wyld EPA and it is light and refreshing. The beer poured a slightly cloudy orange with decent white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The smell has fresh slightly grapefruity hop. The taste is bitter through the entire draw, but comes off the pallet nicely. There is a subtle citrus present. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall the beer is a good session ale.

Hmmm, I wonder if this bottle just sat around too long (why do I STILL buy bottled/canned beer from outside the tri-state area? It never holds up).

Anyway, really average beer at best, with hardly any hop profile (the Uinta site claims it's "aggressively hopped". Not).

The malt character is definitely very good, and mouthfeel is also very nice with very good lacing.

I've had other Uinta bottles what seemed fresh so I dunno what happened with this beer?

Moral of the story: Buy local!

Poured into becker pint glass; clear yellow-orange with a thin white fizzy head that sticks as a disc of foam with some small lacing. Smells of pale malt with some light crisp grassy hops, very appetizing and clean. Taste is delicious; clean bready malt with a perfect crisp slight hop finish. Tasty beer, and sessionable as hell at 4%.

The reviews for WYLD - an organic beer - are all over the map. I am the I LIKE IT camp.

A: Poured from orange can into a wine glass, an extra pale yellow-amber with a fast dissapating white head, lots of lacing, lots of carbonation. Looks good.

S: Very unusual, buttered bread with grapefruit marmelade. For me this works. Pleasant and plenty of interesting, appetizing aroma. A little hop stink and soapiness as it warms.

T: Again, original - this is NOT DALES PALE (my fave beer), much milder, low alcohol, fruitier, less pine and bitterness, more doughy bread. A creamy, citrus, bright, light flavor. A bit of background malt, bread, butter.

F: Well carbonated, refreshing. Makes me hungry. Good summer beer, comes in cans, organic, sustainable, this is a recommended first of the summer day, right after sweating, kind of beer. Sessionable, low alcohol. A winner, glad I got the 12 pack. Will share with friends, will but again.

Excellent medium-gold colored body with a thick, blocky white head; sticky lacing. Foral and pine scents; musk melon. Warm malt flavors; fruity esters; soothing hop bitterness; light, warm bread. Medium bodied; smooth; semi-dry finish.

A smooth and easy drinking beer with excellent balance of flavors and subtle taste complexities. One of the best tasting, low alcohol content beers I have had in a long time. An excellent session beer contender if you're looking for a tasty yet mild beer in that category.
