A refreshing unfiltered American style wheat beer, this medium-bodied ale has a delicate hop character. Don’t do the orange thing with it,. it’s ‘just a beer’., and don’t think you can get away with anything lederhosen.

Out of the bottle, this presents lightly foggy straw gold with more fish food floaters than I'd expect from Uinta, all under a short white head that settles to a sparse film leaving wavy lace.
A very subtle wheat character expresses closer to white bread actually, with the faintest touch of hefe yeast that makes this translate more as a pale wheat ale, only slightly altered by the lemon on the rim.
The medium round body has a light fluff and finishes semi-dry.

A very solid take on a hefeweizen. It leans more toward the Paulaner version of hefeweiss than Maisel's or Weihenstephaner. But still plenty of of the tart bubbles that at least I find in the Maisel's version even if few others do. Less cloudy than Paulaner. Works with an orange or without

L:. Pours a slightly cloudy straw yellow with a medium white head and nice lacing around the glass.
S:. Notes of bubblegum, pepper, lemon, and banana and touch of coriander not the strongest aroma but still inviting.
T: Wheat, a touch of lemon, notes of bubblegum, banana and coriander, a very nice easy drinking wheat beer.
F:. Smooth and easy drinking
O:. Very enjoyable and easy drinking wheat beer. Also note this was the first beer, I had after running a 38 mile race, so it might be a touch biased as I'm pretty sure any beer after that many miles would taste amazing.

this is a pretty safe take on the style, it checks most of the boxes but comes across as conservative and a little dated to me, less of a commitment to the pale wheat, there is a light caramel color and taste to this from what must be some richer malts, and the yeast is pretty tame, its grain before yeast by quite a wide margin, not a bad thing, just different proportions and textures than the best of these have in my opinion. its clean enough, easy to drink for having a fuller body, and is not flawed in any way from a technical standpoint. i get a little green banana and green pear in the nose and the same esters in the taste, a hint of bubblegum maybe too, but its not that high tone at all. well grounded by the grain, nicely carbonated which is key here, and while a little bit less exciting than some, i still think underrated here on BA, this is better than average by any standard. these guys seem to have been trending toward more modern styles lately, but this is a good reminder not to neglect their classics. a fine spring sipper and nice with a spicy shrimp po boy!

A gold yellow, pour the yeast in and it's straight thick cloudy gold, thin head
Smell is a clean banana ish malt
Without the yeast the taste was much more sharp and vinegary, with yeast this seems like nothing but well rounded malt. Very crushable, one of the first crafts I liked so I may be biased here.

[Original rating 2012-08-17] Cloudy gold/brown with a thin white head. Aroma is wheat, yeast. Taste is pretty much the same, not really interesting.

I can understand the criticisms that this beer receives, but I think it works well for what it is, which is a sessionable, somewhat sweet, somewhat tangy wheat beer. It doesn't come across as a true hefeweizen, as others have said, but that doesn't hurt it for me. The flavor is certainly one-note, but it's a flavor that I really like. This is probably my go-to Utah 4% session beer when I want something light, mild, and somewhat sweet.
